The National Society of Pershing Rifles is a military drilling society that focuses on developing to the highest degree possible: outstanding traits of leadership, military science, military bearing, and discipline within the framework of a military oriented, honorary fraternity. Our founder, the renowned General of the Armies, John Joseph "Black Jack" Pershing founded this prestigious organization on the campus of University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1894. Since then, we have branched out all over the nation with at least 17 different headquarters and 70+ schools.

On 13 April, 1953, Company N-4 was chartered on North Carolina A&T State University's campus. We pride ourselves in being men of integrity, upholding our organization to the highest regard in drill, discipline, and leadership, developing an elite group of military-minded men ready to serve their nation.
The National Society of Pershing Rifles has adopted as its mission the following four interrelated objectives:
A. To aid in the development of successful officers in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

B. To foster camaraderie and esprit de corps among all three Reserve Officers’ Training Corps programs.​

C. To further the purpose, traditions, and concepts of the United States Army, Navy, and Air Force​
​
D. To give civilians an opportunity to be part of a military organization without a formal commitment to the military.
MISSION
PURPOSE
The purpose of the National Society of Pershing Rifles is to develop, to the highest degree possible, outstanding traits of leadership, military science, military bearing, and discipline within the framework of a military oriented, honorary fraternity.
